About Igy
Igy is the only LGBTQ+ organization working with queer youth today, and acts as a unique model worldwide. Igy was established in 2002 as a small youth group in Kfar Saba, and expanded from there into a national organization which operates tens of groups across the country, and is recognized as an official Youth Organization in Israel.
Who are We
Igy is an educational, social movement, which is a home for a wide spectrum of people - teens, young adults, and adults - that are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Based on values of freedom, solidarity, and social justice, Igy creates reality-changing spaces that strive to cultivate a feeling of social belonging and create civil responsibility, with personal and collective investment in social and LGBTQ+ topics, which allow exploration, forming of identity, initiative, and leadership.
Igy's Mission
Creating ideal conditions for queer upbringing in Israel, which allow members of the LGBTQ+ community in Israel to imagine a shared and positive future. This future is based on values of freedom, solidarity, and social justice - values that guide an uncompromising fight with homophobia, transphobia, and all forms of violence, together with striving to create inclusion, safety and socioeconomic equality for all citizens, specifically the LGBTQ+ youth and community.
